Who We Are

About Us

New Hope is a Southern Baptist, Bible-believing church where more than 1,200 people gather each week. Children, students, and adults of all ages come together for dynamic, exciting worship, prayer, teaching, and small groups for every age. Our Hispanic ministry meets directly across the street from the main campus.

Our preaching comes straight from Scripture and centers on our incomparable God, His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Together we serve our community, our nation, and our world through dozens of vital ministries. Come see what God is doing among us. We’d love for you to join us.

AT NEW HOPE, WE BELIEVE THE GOSPEL, BELONG TO THE FAMILY OF GOD, BECOME MORE LIKE CHRIST, AND JOIN GOD IN BUILDING HIS KINGDOM.

BELIEVING FUELS EVERYTHING
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

BELONGING
GROUNDS EVERYTHING
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs
to all the others.” (Romans 12:4-5)

BECOMING SHAPES EVERYTHING
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good,
pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2)

BUILDING EXPRESSES EVERYTHING
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19)

Serve Teams

Serve teams are sent out locally, nationally and internationally to share the Gospel. We train teams with gifts and passions that range from working with kids and door-to-door evangelism to singing and painting. Family groups are our version of Sunday school. It makes the big seem small and breeds deep community to walk with you through trials and joy. Impacting communities is really the heartbeat of our church. We believe that the Gospel transforms, and we’re committed to joining God in reviving the spiritual landscape of our community and world by connecting people to Jesus.

Baptism

We believe Baptism is a symbol of your faith. Although Baptism does not “save” you (only your faith in Jesus does that), it’s the outward symbol of the commitment you made in your heart.

At New Hope, we want to make it easy for people to plug in and become members. Being a member of a Bible-believing church is a meaningful step of faith and belonging. To us, it means a wholehearted commitment to Christ and to serving Him...everything else is secondary. From that foundation flows walking through life with others, investing in relationships, and actively building a thriving godly community.

Our membership process looks like this…

  • Being baptized by full immersion after a salvation experience, if that hasn’t already occurred.
  • Take our membership class. Classes are offered throughout the year during the last Family Group hour (11:15 AM).
  • Sign New Hope’s covenant.

QUESTIONS?

  • Does Small Group attendance make me a member? No.
  • Do I have to be a member to be baptized? No, you don’t. But to become a member, you must be baptized by full immersion before completing the process.
  • How can I be baptized? We encourage you to talk to a minister before being baptized.
  • I’m a kid. Can I be baptized? Yes! We encourage you to talk to the Children’s Minister before being baptized.
  • How old do I have to be to become a member? We open it up to all ages. The adult membership class begins with 6th grade+ and the children’s membership and baptism class (also known as the new believer class) is for 5th grade and under.

Cooperating to Reach the World

New Hope is a cooperating Southern Baptist church. Through the Cooperative Program, we join nearly 47,000 Southern Baptist churches across the country to support gospel ministry around the world. A portion of every dollar given at New Hope helps train pastors and missionaries, plant churches, provide disaster relief, and send missionaries through the International Mission Board, the North American Mission Board, and our six Southern Baptist seminaries. Together, we can accomplish far more than any one church could alone.

What We Believe

God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, we need God’s saving grace to end our alienation from Him. Salvation comes only through God’s saving grace – not human effort – and must be received personally by repentance and faith.

God created us for His glory.

God desires an intimate relationship with each one of us.

Jesus Christ, second Person of the Trinity, lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. This accomplishes salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in Him alone. He rose from the dead and is the only mediator between God and us. He will return to earth to consummate history.

Jesus left His eternal dwelling with the Father and dwelt among us.

Jesus lived a sinless life.

Jesus died on the cross for our sins.

Jesus rose from the dead and will return to earth to gather His children and judge the world.

The Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ and equips believers for personal growth and service to the church. The church’s role is to glorify God and serve those in need. At the end, everyone will experience bodily resurrection and the judgment. Those forgiven through Christ will enjoy eternal fellowship with God.

The Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ.

The Holy Spirit indwells each believer empowering Christ-like lives.

The Holy Spirit empowers each believer for ministry through spiritual gifts.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential, and that repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to come into a relationship with God.

We believe Baptism is a symbol of your faith. Although Baptism does not “save” you (only your faith in Jesus does that), it’s the outward symbol of the commitment you made in your heart.

“The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right.” 2 Timothy 3:16 (LB)

The sole basis of our belief is the Bible, which is uniquely God-inspired, without error, and the final authority on all matters on which it bears. Since God’s Word is the only completely reliable and truthful authority, we accept the Bible as our manual for living. Our first question when faced with a decision is “What does the Bible say?” We practice daily Bible reading, Bible study, and Bible memorization. The Bible is the basis for all we believe.

“He is the head of his body, the church; he is the source of the body’s life.” Colossians 1:18 (TEV)

Christ is the recognized head of our church, not any person, group, or religious organization. While recognizing the value of associating and cooperating with other groups of Christians, we believe every local church should be self-governing and independent from any denominational control.

“He loves us, and by his death he has freed us from our sins and made us a kingdom of priests to serve his God.” Revelation 1:5b and 6a (TEV)

“But you, the King’s priests, God’s own people, chosen to proclaim the wonderful acts of God.” 1 Peter 2:9 (TEV)

Every believer has direct access to God through prayer and Bible reading. The Bible teaches that every Christian is called to “full time” Christian service, regardless of his or her vocation.

“A tithe of everything from the land belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.” Leviticus 27:30

At New Hope , we practice tithing for the support of Christ’s Body, the church, as God commands. We believe that giving ten percent (10%) of our income is a Biblical place to start with our giving. Ultimately, we should give even more freely out of the joy of our hearts and the abundance of our blessings.
